Green Day: Last Night On Earth Meaning
Last Night On Earth Lyrics
did it go through?
sending all my love to you
you are the moonlight of my life every night
giving all my love to you
my beating heart belongs to you
i walk for miles till i found you

It's a love song Billie wrote to Adrienne about missing her amf making sure she knows that he loves her. But because of the theme of 21st century breakdown its told from Christian and Gloria's view. But basically he's telling Adrienne that he if lost everything he would still send all his love. It's beautiful to be honest his love for her is strong and its amazing! This song makes me upset cus I know how it feels to be so far away from someone you love and not be able to do things with them and yeah its hard

This is actually not a night date with Christian confessing his love to Gloria. This is after the song before the lobotomy, in which Gloria gets a lobotomy, pretty much making her braindead. This is Christian feeling lonely one night and remembering why he lived Gloria

I am not sure how right i am but this is my interpretation of the song :
I think this song is about a man who is involved in a war, a terrible one and he doesnt know if he will survive it or not. He is also missing his wife/girlfriend a lot and he is unsure about their future. So he sends her a text tell her that he is safe right now and that no matter what he ll always love her, hence the lines "I text a postcard sent to to you, did it go through ?". In the postcard/ text he also assures her that even if he died in the war he died in honour which will in turn bring her honour too and he always will love her. Hence the lines "I made to honour you, and if i loose everything in the fire, I am sending all my love to you" -
Billie Joe probably wrote it about his wife, Adrienne, while on tour and missing her by texting her saying he missed her.

This song is listed after the introduction of Gloria and Christian as the two protagonists of the album (in Viva la Gloria and Christian's Inferno respectively). Christian pledges his eternal love for Gloria- although it never specifies whether the song is from his point of view or hers, it is more likely his.
Basically, he tells her how is absolutely, completely, hopelessly in love with her and that she brings reason into his life.
There are references here to the previous song, Christian's Inferno- "If I loose everything in the fire, I'm sending all my love to you."
What he means is, his love for her will withstand any sort of destruction.
