Grouplove: Deleter Meaning
Song Released: 2020
Deleter Lyrics
In the highways
We've been here for too long, for too long
Am I anxious or just modern?
All this darkness
Been going on too long, for too long
Yeah, yeah, yeah
All this time I thought you were a leader
It...

Don't you think its basically about social media and the people who let it control their lives. So many people letting things on social media upset them, getting them down, when it's really meaningless garbage that they should flip aside and move on. "How we built a lighthouse out of all these godforsaken ruins". People wishing to show the world their life is spectacular by posting crap (pictures of food, trips to the shop, sitting around drinking) WHO CARES!!!!

The person who thought it was about Hilary, that’s Hilary-ous. If it is political at all, don’t you think it makes sense that is is someone actually in the current public eye, who keeps removing people from posts if they have any disagreement with him and curates information in all departments? Also deletes progress that have been made on important issues across the board?
I mean it’s clear to most of us, but seems like you needed some help.
I think personally it may be political but it isn’t fully clear that it is. I think it is intentionally ambiguous and has a good message for 2020, can serve as guiding words to many. -
I thought it was about a guy was deleted rather then leading. Like he understands how to delete better then lead. That’s what makes sense to me.

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

I think this song is about someone who posts on social media confidently but when feeling paranoid of someone else’s post deletes or blocks them. So all this time I thought I was a leader, but I actually just deleted someone or a post I stood for but changed my mind and deleted it. Mostly about posting and bragging
-
To me the song is a reference to all the Fukboys and girls out there with NO Integrity.
Instead of standing for something or standing up to someone, they block and delete you.
Better to avoid confrontation and feelings than to actually “grow up”
The secondary meaning has reference to our Planet, “She will do just fine after we are long gone”
Just me and my 2 pennies
