What You Waiting For? Lyrics
What a family
How did the years go by?
Now it's only me
Tick tock
Tick tock
Tick tock
Tick tock
Tick tock
Tick tock
Tick tock
Tick tock
(La la la la la)
Like a cat in heat stuck in a moving car
A scary...

1TOP RATED
#1 top rated interpretation:This is a song that Gwen wrote to herself. It's about her struggle with writer's block after she was left to write songs without her band. In the song she tells herself to take a risk and to just get on with her album because if she waits too long, she'll get too old and won't be able to do anything. She's assuring herself that she can make it, that she is capable.

It’s about her losing her mind in the music video it shows her with a therapist and Alice in wonderland is about someone who loses her mind and imagines something that’s not real. I think it means she can’t do something, she’s stuck but she wants to rip out of the bubble and do it but something is holding her back maybe she thinks she isn’t young enough to do it (Look at your watch now You're still a super hot female)
OR this she’s leaving her band (no doubt) Naturally I'm worried if I do it alone Who really cares? 'Cause it's your life
You never know, it could be great Take a chance 'cause you might grow. she’s usually doing it with her band and she has backup to comfort her but she’ll be all alone if she does it by herself Tick-tock Tick-tock Tick-tock means she’s wasting time she just should take a Leap and do it

This song has many meanings therefore I will number them in order so the lyrics would make sense.
1.) She made this song as her first song in her cd. She basically is talking about how she is getting older and if she dosen't get the album done she might not be so hot( since after 35 an artist is seen as done in the industry.
2.)she is fearful to be alone, and dosent really know what to do.
3.) She assures herself that she is still a 'hot' female, basically saying she can sell the product and get sells
4.) Her indecisive feelings about even embarking in an album since at this time she was already married to Gavin and she was unsure if she wanted to have a kid and and start a family.
5.) And again stressing, she sees time running out because she is getting older and if she dosen't do it sooner 'her moment will run out because of her being female' basically saying that she isn't getting any younger and she needs to sell the album before fans start buying from younger and newer artists. -
Read the lyrics in reference to her biological clock ticking. The song is about her feeling that time is fleeting away to have a baby, and that she might have to have it on her own if she can't find a guy to settle down with, and how society would frown upon it.
