Song Released: 2005
Sitting, Waiting, Wishing Lyrics
That you believed in superstitions
Then maybe you'd see the signs
But Lord knows that this world is cruel
And I ain't the Lord, no I'm just a fool
Learning loving somebody don't make them love you
Must I...

#1 top rated interpretation:Jack wrote this song for a friend who was trying to get this girl, but obviously it was going nowhere. Jack wanted to show the friend who obsessive he was being.

This helped in my marriage to a immature man I was married to for 36years ……man I waited, waited for him to come home, to stop drinking, to acknowledge me as a wife, to do things with our kids, to be happy, then I wished I wished for the marriage to work, for An interaction in which I felt valued, but man………………….having to put up with his uneducated, masoginstic, alpha male alcoholic friends yer love this song this is my interpretation of jacks words helped me ,be able to breath when my life was so suffocating when the air was so thick it just didn’t reach my lungs.

The song is about a guy who is waiting for his perfect girl to realize his presence. He says he can't always be waiting for her but regardless of her answer and her friends feelings towards him, he will forever be waiting on her, for her love and attention.
-
I think he is saying that in life shit happens.
-
Now I was sitting waiting wishing, he's wishing that the girl wants to be with him like he wants to be with her.
I can't always be waiting waiting on you, I can't always be playing playing your fool. He had enough of her doubts and wants to know where he stands in her life.
Well if I was in your position
Id put down all my ammunition, he asks her no longer to delay the answer to the question he has, Do you want me in your life as your Guy or as a Friend.
To make things short I think that this song is about knowing if she wants him or not, he waited too long. -
This song is about a guy that is sitting around waiting for this girl, and her friends hate him so its hard for her to be with him, and he has to sit wait and wish for her to come to him
Now I was sitting waiting wishing
That you believed in superstitions
Then maybe you'd see the signs
But Lord knows that this world is cruel
And I ain't the Lord, no I'm just a fool
Learning loving somebody don't make them love you
Must I always be waiting waiting on you?
Must I always be playing playing your fool?
I sing ya songs I dance a dance
I gave ya friends all a chance
Putting up with them wasn't worth never having you
And maybe you been through this before
But its my first time
So please ignore
The next few lines cause they're directed at you
I can't always be waiting waiting on you
I can't always be playing playing your fool
I keep playing your part
But its not my scene
Wont this plot not twist?
I've had enough mystery.
Keep building me up, then shooting me down
Well I'm already down
Just wait a minute
Just sitting waiting
Just wait a minute
Just sitting waiting
Well if I was in your position
Id put down all my ammunition
I'd wondered why'd it taken me so long
But Lord knows that I'm not you
And If I was I wouldn't be so cruel
Cause waiting on love ain't so easy to do
Must I always be waiting waiting on you?
Must I always be playing playing your fool?
No I can't always be waiting waiting on you
I can't always be playing playing your fool, foool
