Shine On Lyrics

Please don't cry You know I'm leaving here tonight Before I go I want you to know that there will always be a light And if the moon had to runaway And all the stars didn't wanna play Don't waste the sun on a rainy day The wind will soon blow it...

You are right, and I have heard that he wrote that song after he's dad died, and two years later he created a song of it, and he waited two years because of the sadness in he's heart I couldn't sing it earlier.

I believe that this song is about hope and getting on with life even if someone important in your life is going away. The singer is saying that there will always be a light somewhere. also that you must always shine on.
if the days start to feel repetitive and you no longer feel anything then you need to remember that there is another day and you may meet again.

'If the moon had to run away, and all the stars didn't want to play, don't waste the sun on a rainy day, the wind will soon blow it all away.'

is saying that all though things look bad now, don't give up hope or use all that you have because eventually it will be better

This is what I believe and I may be completely wrong seeing as I know very little about this band but Shine On is one of my favourite songs so I just wanted to share what I thought it meant.
