So this is Christmas
And what have you done
Another year over
A new one just begun

I hope you have fun
The near and the dear ones

A great Merry Christmas song. After John Lennon broke away from the Beatles this is the first Christmas song he recorded for the public with the hope to spread more of the Christmas spirit to all the people. He wanted us to be more conscience about the children caught in the crossfires of war and the damage is doing to them throughout the world by learning the meaning of a Jesus anti-war message of love and peace if we all want the war to end by a healthy and careing educational system that is good for all citizens and not to destroy our god given free will to dumb down and take over our minds for the war mongers to easily manipulate us to and by wars. John believed in love and peace like a ''Sheep in wolves clothing'' to sound his trumpet proudly at times in his music, but also being careful and watching out for ''the wolf in sheep's clothing'' that would like to lead us to the slaughter house. John was not afraid to speak his mind to truth against the politicians in government that were not honest with the people, so for us to be concerd with that also reminds me of what Alexander The Great said ''I'am not afraid of an army of lions [wolves] led by a sheep; I'am afraid of an army of sheep led by a lion [wolf]'' that would like to lead us to the pastures of a ''soylent green'' world war to fight and eat ourselves in.

(So this is Christmas and what have you done?)
What have we really accomplished with this biggest event of the year? Money, work, effort, what have we really done?

(And a happy new year, I hope it's a good one with out any tears)
I take this as sarcasm. Producing tears is as much a tradition as Christmas. Of course the new year will be the same because no one will change anything. He adds that peace is possible.
