    He had to choose between going to play football or being there for that little girl. this song is about being at a cross road, whichever road he chooses, he looses something. For instance if he chooses to go play football then that little girl wont really know her father, but he chose to be in that girl's life and so he lost football but gained something much bigger.

    There is a father who finds out his wife is pregnant, and has no idea how he is ever going to raise a child, but when she is born, he falls in love with her. Throughout his life, he nearly cries whenever she has to leave him, because she has become his life, his pride and joy.

    A young guy probably in his teens finds out his girl is pregnant. He knows he's way too young but he's got to be there. When she's a child he wonders how he went through life without his little girl. When she leaves, he cries because he knows that was his greatest accomplishment fulfilled and moving on without him.
