Featuring: Grace Potter and the Nocturnals
You and Tequila Lyrics
Kicking dust in the Canyon wind
Waiting for that sun to go down
Made it up Mulholland Drive
Hell bent on getting high
High above the lights of town
'Cause you and Tequila make me crazy
Run like poison in my...

#1 top rated interpretation:It's comparing a woman and tequila and how the woman means so much to him but he tries to forget and he can't and he just keeps going back to her even though she drives him crazy just like tequila does.

#2 top rated interpretation:To the June 23rd anomymous comment. Bingo....This song says everything you said about myself and the woman I've been in love with for 6 years now. Never with anyone else in between the fall out and only with "tequila" in the inbetweens. June 10th was the last serious departure from one another....we're Emailing only... professing how much we miss the other..and the circle continues ....This song hits me like a ton of bricks everytime I hear it. Love it, but kills me to hear it too.

3TOP RATED
#3 top rated interpretation:This song really seems to be about recovery from addiction. The 'you' refers to drugs, the way I perceive it. "Running like poison in my blood,' 'one is one too many, one more is never enough,' and '30 days and 30 nights' all refer to common sayings for drug and alcohol use, and thirty days is the typical amount of days in a rehab facility. For anyone who has struggled themselves with addiction or suffered through the ups and downs of the struggles of a close friend or family member, this song is particularly meaningful.
-
When he plays it live he always says this is for everyone out there who has that one person you know is bad for you but you keep going back.
-
First off, we know Kenny didn’t write the song so any annotations to his personal life wouldn’t apply here.
The fact that so many people think they know exactly what the song is about is what makes a great song.
For me, simply put ..he’s telling his lover he knows she’s not good for him, but he’s hooked on her just as he is tequila.
“..when it comes to you, all the damage I can do”
I can remember meeting a beautiful girl and thinking that to myself many a time. -
It's Absolutely about ADDICTION- probably to alcohol or possibly another substance- may even be a lover who's bad for you But I Highly Doubt It. EVIDENCED BY THE WORD "AND". Come on. Who hasn't been with someone who is Terrible for them because they are in a bad way otherwise??
-
For fuck's sake people, it's about drugs..namely cocaine, "One is one too many and one more is never enough"

This is the answer its about a man who met a woman but she was already in a relationship and he did meet someone else but even though he was with this girlfriend of his he couldn't forget about the one he met who was already taken. forbidden love that's why in the song it says oh the DAMAGED I CAN DO WHEN IT COMES TO YOU! he can't have her / its always your favorite sin that do you in / YOU and tequila make me crazy ! he's in a relationship and she's bad for him just like tequila is.
-
to me this song talks about the deep love he has for his forbidden love they have a relationship in secret just the two of them know but probably they fight so he drives alone to a canyon or a mountain away from everybody and the noises to think or reflect about what's happening with the relationship probably they were fighting a lot ,and he is hurt and so is she,he is considering not to get back to her ,and he compares her to a drink in this case tequila because well tequila is a hard drink is makes you dizzy and you end up having a bad headheache so maybe the girlfriend when they fight has the same sideeffect on your his head ,she give him a headheache ,but he is so in love with her that he forgives her, cause he sing it's so easy to forget the bitter taste the morning left ,maybe he was saying ok we fight really hard that you don't only gave a headheache but you gave a soulheadche but i forgive you cause i love you.probably he dranks to forget ,who doesn't get away to think or who doesn't drink when we fight with the one we love or who doesn't have a big soulheadche and headheacke when fighting when the one we love ?,we want to forget about thing we said to each other but ,at the end the love we feel makes us to forget so easy that we end up forgetting and loving the one who makes us drink tequila and loving that person again!

It's about a doomed relationship... the song describes a couple that can't stay away from each other no matter how hard they try. "One more night could kill me baby, one is one too many, one more is never enough" is describing their tumultous and ultimitely detrimental relationship. "It's so easy to forget the bitter taste the morning left" and "It's always your favorite sins that do you in" tell of the narrator's struggle with 'addiction' to his lover. Tequila in this song is merely figurative, an image that provides a comparative addiction.
'You' and 'tequila' in this song are essentially the same thing... two things the narrator can't live with, but can't live without. -
forbidden love - you can have forbidden love with alcohol and share the same forbidden love with a woman/man - "it's always your favorite sins that do you in" - now that says it all to me
-
it means addiction to me. not women but alcohol.
-
i think the song is about a couple that just cant stay away from one another no matter how many times they try they always end up back together for a short period of time untill they split up again only to find theirselves in the same spot missing one another. one is to many and one more is never enough is a perfect metaphor saying that shots and kisses are the same in the sense that the first one is hard because they both know after the first one they will want more but maybe im thinking way to deeply into this but i really like this song reminds me of my highschool sweetheart and my self
-
Sounds like a song about recovery and what alcohol can do to an alcoholic.
