Linkin Park: Forgotten Meaning
Forgotten Lyrics
Bottom to top I stop
At the core I’ve forgotten
In the middle of my thoughts
Taken far from my safety
The picture is there
The memory won’t escape me
But why should I care
There’s a place so dark you can’t see...
-
"The darkness holding me tightly
Until the sun rises up"
to me that sounds like a very good description of insonmia
darkness holding me tightly suggests not being strong enough to break free from the insomnia? -
i'm gonna take a wild guess.
'The memory now is like the picture was then
When the paper's crumpled up it can't be perfect again'
i figure it might've been about doing drugs, and realizing how much you've screwed up your life.
'Taken far from my safety
The picture is there
The memory won't escape me
But why should I care '
i think he quit getting high, but he still remembers how much he lost, and he blames himself
'Now you got me caught in the act
You bring the thought back
I'm telling you that
I see it right through you '
i think someone he cared about caught him doing drugs, and was yelling at him so he just felt crappier. -
A person all alone, self harm, insomnia or drug addiction, the self harm part I got was the first verse about "a small spot of light floods the floor- and the eyes ease open and it's dark again", but it just may be whoever wrote the lyrics, was writing about a time where he stayed up all night (thinking), where the "eyes burning up" comes in. This song is kind of hard to pinpoint an exact meaning, but the chorus sounds like a suicide not I think.

song is either about mike havin a drug addiction. Again it's a song also dedicated to mike's girlfriend or wife, she catches him doin drugs, gives him crap for it.
