Linkin Park: Valentine's Day Meaning
Valentine's Day Lyrics
And blew away as I collapsed / So cold
A black wind took them away / From sight
And held the darkness over day / that night
And the clouds above move closer
looking so dissatisfied
but the heartless...
-
although there are many LP songs that relate to suicide this is not one of them
The message is pretty clear if you ask me.
"A black wind took you away"
"And the ground bellow grew colder
As they put you down inside"
That means someone close to the singer died.
And the way the singer feels after the death
"l used to be my own protection
But not now
'Cause my path has lost direction
Somehow"
The mentioning of valentines day means that it was somebody they loved. Perhaps the love of their life. -
This is about reliving or remembering the day your lover died, "And the clouds above move closer Looking so dissatisfied And the ground below grew colder As they put you down inside But the heartless wind kept blowing, blowing". He/Her lover must have died in a storm which is "heartless", and on Valentine's Day he realises how painful he loss is, "
So now you're gone, and I was wrong I never knew what it was like, to be alone" -
This is a really sad song.
Losing someone you love is hard. -
I thought the song was more about how he had lost someone he had really cared about, but everyone blamed it on him, so he felt all alone.
-
maybe this song is about death. ´and the ground below grew colder as they put you down inside´,maybe it´s about a person who lost the one he loves and on the valentine´s day all the memories come back in his mind. It´s cold and he is alone. he needs someone. maybe he thought it wouldn´t hurt anymore, but suddenly he realises: she is gone!
-
So basically, I think this song is about Chester and how when his wife divorced him...she became dead to him
-
Without knowing anything, I don't think that it it about being left on 'The Valentines Day', but just about being left.
And in my mind, it doesn't have to be a boy/girl-friend or wife/husband, it can also be a very good friend if you go deeper into the lyrics.
But of course, he sings "I never knew what it was like to be alone on a Valentines Day." -
I think this song is a very sad one, it is about someone losing their love one right before valentine's day.that suppose to be the most romantic and happiest day of the year. It's a very hard song for me to listen to because of my past experience.
-
Yeah, you guys are close, but not quite...Chester wrote it after his wife divorced him. So yes, it's about being alone on valentines day.
-
The song is about how he/she lost his/her lover and the person he/she loved committed suicide. Though you may not agree with this, here's some evidence:
"and the ground below grew colder
as they put you down inside"
That is what led me to believe that the person the singer loved committed suicide because they are fed up with peoples negativity.
Now on Valentine's Day, the person is all alone, confused, and depressed. That is what the song is about.
