Little Mix: Pretend It's Ok Meaning
Pretend It's Ok Lyrics
How does it feel? Pretend it's OK
My eyes deceive me, but it's still the same
Pretend it's OK
I remember the day when we were out all night
I wish that I can get the day back and tell you it's...
-
I fell like it’s someone being bullied, threatened or even hurt from someone or something that it hurts them in the inside but the outside they pretend it’s ok
-
I personally think that the song is about obviously someone pretending that everything is fine but I feel specifically like it might be about Jade and her struggle
with anorexia as when it says things like "sometimes it can get so hard pretending its ok" and it just makes me think that Jade stopped eating but was still acting like she was eating and that everything was fine when it obviously wasn't. -
To me, the song is really emotional but not too emotional. It seems to be talking about a girl who lost a lot of people or things and regrets it. she's depressed or something. It seems like she knows everything's wrong but she doesn't want to believe it so she "pretends it's ok". Also, it seems like she asks herself a lot of questions. "what would you do? what would you say how does it feel?" like if she were to go back in time, she's asking herself what would she have done if she knew what would happen. That's my guess.

i assume it's about somebody who's depressed, putting on an act of being "okay".

I think this song is saying that this girl/guy's best friend passed away and now they are pretending it's ok...
It says "we're living on borrowed time" it's gone "I wish that I could get the day back and tell you it's alright" since they are gone the person can't and since they are gone she/he is pretending it's ok that the friend is gone(suicide)
Also:
"One breath, one step, one life, one heart"
"I see the light that I'm chasing
A memory, but it's fading
When it's gone I'll be waiting
Knowing it's too late" -
This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway
-
I'm not too sure but looking at the lyrics I think it might mean something like this, and I'm just taking a wild guess here:
Someone is depressed or regretted something "Remember the day when we were out all night
I wish that I can get the day back and tell you it's alright
Cause we all do the same thing, we just don't realize
That we're living on borrowed time"
~
"My eyes deceive me, but it's still the same" Might mean that she's trying to see something good out of this and trying to make it seem like she's fine but really, she's not.
~
"You chose the road that I'm walking
Now it's your soul that I'm caught in
And you're not hearing when I'm calling
Calling your name"
It might mean that someone she loved has chosen the same path she has (i.e. regretting a certain night/some sort of mental illness) and she's calling out to tell them that they're going the wrong way but they're not listening to her.
~
"I'm there with you, here by my side"
It could mean that she supports them no matter what path they've chosen.
~
"Nothing here, no one talking, knowing it's too late"
No one is helping and it's too late to change
So yeah, that's what I think the song might mean.
