Little Mix: These Four Walls Meaning
Song Released: 2013
These Four Walls Lyrics
I feel so numb
Staring at the shower wall
It's begun,
The feeling that the end has come
And now the water's cold
I tried to eat today
But the lump in my throat got in the way
[Jesy:]
In this time I've lost all sense of...

1TOP RATED
#1 top rated interpretation:I really think that girls are speaking about a loved one died. "I can't come alive", don't you think it means "I died with you and I can't come alive". "I called a hundred times, if I hear your voice I'll be fine"... I don't think it's about a breakup.
-
This song isn’t about a break up because it’s way too sad. From my point of view it’s about a close relative passing. And with Jades solo “I tried to eat today but the lump in my throat got in the way” must be about her anorexia experience
-
I think they're all singing about bad things in their lives. "I tried to eat today but the lump in my throat got in the way" I think Jade sings this because after her grandad past away she developed Anorexia.
"But you're not here to turn the lights off, I can't sleep" I think Jesy sings this about her estranged father
"I tried to smile today but then I realised there's no point anyway" I think Leigh-Anne sings this about her abusive ex boyfriend
"In this time, I've lost all sense of pride" I think Perrie sings this about her possible eating/stress disorder -
I think it's about Jade's Grandad Mohanmed passing away which led to her struggle of anorexia
-
I think it could be about a loved one/ partner dying. "What if I had one more night for goodbye" meaning that they want to have one last day to say goodbye before they left. I think Jade's part 'I tried to eat today, but the lump in my throat in the way' is about how she used to have anorexia.
-
I think it's about a boyfriend dying .. like when she called she heard the voice mail of his voice. way too deep to be about a break up
-
I think it's about someone who died, it can be a boyfriend, or just a (close) friend.
-
I think it's about the death of someone. It's way too emotional to be about a breakup.
-
I had the exact same thought as one other commenter... A long distance relationship. It doesn't even have to be a romantic relationship, just someone who you're close to who isn't there. "If you're not here to turn the lights off I can't sleep." You just stay up missing them, it ruins your sleep. It starts to affect your whole life.
-
I feel like this song can be interpreted many different ways. It could just be about a breakup, but it could also be about someone close to you dying. Overall, it states that loosing someone is hard to deal with, and you can go through stages of dark sadness or depression. For example, "If I had one more night for goodbye..","I've lost all sense of pride", "the feeling that the end has come..", etc.
-
Honestly the first thing i thought of was a husband, boyfriend, brother or another sibling going to war.. idk
-
I think it's about a girl who lost her boyfriend and now she's just broken.
-
I believe it is about someone close has passed away and really effected their life.
-
This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway
-
I think its about a little girl whose father has left her mum and they are going through a divorce, the line "if your not here to turn the lights off, I cant sleep" suggests that a father used to tuck her in bed each night.
-
I think it is about a loved one dying. It definetely goes farther than a breakup. The lyrics: "'Cause I can't help but wonder/ What if I had one more night for goodbye?" Meaning if she could only have that life with him for one more day. The part about saying goodbye hints its not just a breakup. Also, "Can't seem to leave your side/ Your pillow's wet/ From all these tears I've cried/ I won't say goodbye" These lyrics seem to say they slept together every night, like they were married, or engaged, and they lived together. " I won't say goodbye" seems to say that the world feels cruel and she still feels like her man is still with her, something that breakups don't bring, becuase they feel real. Death usually doesn't.
