This song is about a bar " The Little Brown Jug " Ronnie Van Zant was dancing with a girl at "The Jug " and the boyfriend came in and was not too happy about Ronnie dancing with his girl reached down into his boot. Ronnie , thinking it was a gun told the man " Just gimme a few steps and I'll be gone .

I think this song is about a guy on a trip and he meets a woman who he is slightly attracted to that asks him to do a job for him. The woman actually has other plans, which the guy figures out, when her husband comes in and the woman blames it on the guy. The husband points a gun at him, then screams at Lindy Lou, then the guy leaves screaming.
