Mumford & Sons: Whispers in the Dark Meaning
Whispers in the Dark Lyrics
-
A moral failure... An affair?
-
This song is about temptation and the difficulty of change.
Someone proclaims about good and evil with high moral authority (you hold your truth so purely, and this cup of yours tastes so holy) and yet this same person might fall into the same mistakes he or she avoids (but fingers tap into what you were once).
Once you make a mistake due to the voices in your head (whispers in the dark....) you shouldnt waste time in recovering (learn your lesson...). You should embrace life since it might be too late once you realized this (and im worried i blew my only chance...)
You should live honestly but admiting that life is full of mistakes....live while you are young and dont pay attention to those whispers in the dark....
