In Bloom Lyrics
--weather changes moods
Spring is here again
--reproductive glands
yeah!
(chorus)
He's the one
Who likes all our pretty songs
And he likes to sing along
And he likes to shoot his gun
But he don't know what it...

Listen none of us have actually talked to Kurt Cobain so we really have no idea but I've always thought of some macho redneck listening to this song and singing along with it but he has no idea what Kurt's talking about.
-
It's about how what we should care about, we don't anymore; and what we shouldn't care about, we do. Line by line it goes:
Sell the kids for food---we no longer care for the youth as long as we profit
Weather changes moods-we're too wishy-washy
Spring is here again-----nature will take it's courst
Reproductive glands----...even when the course ist taboo
He’s the one---------------The whole chourus is about what many call
Who likes all our pretty songs--"the man", which is basically just society. He
And he likes to sing along-----doesn't apriciate art for what it is anymore,
And he likes to shoot his gun--it's all just a show
But he knows not what it means
Knows not what it means
when I say
He’s the one
Who likes all our pretty songs
And he likes to sing along
And he likes to shoot his gun
But he knows not what it means
Knows not what it means
when I say yeeeaaahhh
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
We can have some more---Here, he's either saying we take too much, or we ---------------------don't take enough.
Nature is a whore--------Nature keeps on giving.
Bruises on the fruit-------We're damaging our youth, during their...
Tender age in bloom
He’s the one
Who likes all our pretty songs
And he likes to sing along
And he likes to shoot his gun
But he knows not what it means
Knows not what it means
when I say
He’s the one
Who likes all our pretty songs
And he likes to sing along
And he likes to shoot his gun
But he knows not what it means
Knows not what it means
when I say yeeeaaahhh
*Guitar solo*
He’s the one
Who likes all our pretty songs
And he likes to sing along
And he likes to shoot his gun
But he knows not what it means
Knows not what it means
when I say
He’s the one
Who likes all our pretty songs
And he likes to sing along
And he likes to shoot his gun
But he knows not what it means
Knows not what it means
Knows not what it means
Knows not what it means and I say yeeeaaahhh -
This song is about Cobain's best friend Dylan Carlson the guitarist in the drone band Earth.

I agree with the whole thing about people listening to music to be cool. But i also think this song is a bunch of random phrases. And that just goes to show that you dont have to have such complex lyrics to make a great song

This song is about Nirvana's fans who listen and sing along to their music without knowing what the lyrics mean. also Nirvana had a dislike for arena rock, and were disgusted that some of those who listened to that were now fans of their music.
although many didn't know what their songs were about, due mainly to Kurt's vocals, there were still some "fans" who just listened because they were mainstream. And what's funny about this, is that these "fans" would still sing along to this song not knowing what it means. -

Ok first of all I don't understand people getting personally offended by that interpretation about the matrix thing.... I love Nirvana, I think Kurt Cobain was amazing and wrote incredible lyrics I just don't think he would take offense to what that person said. Entertainment and amusement maybe... I agree that this song is about people pretending they like something only because it sounds good to other people, is on the radio etc. You should appreciate music for your own taste not for anyone elses'. Not being honest about your opinion of an artists' work is much more harmful than what interepretation you find in it, however strange it may be.
