Sleeper Oh: Means to Believe Meaning

Means to Believe Lyrics
-
I love this song. I was raised christian my whole life, and never saw or witnessed god or anything along those lines. I felt all alone in the church. Knowing that I was the only one who didn't by into all of this fakeness. I love shane, this song is spot on.

From Shane himself:
"This song was initially a song I wrote for my solo project, Anullaby. But when I showed it to Micah, he said the lyrics fit into the concept of our record perfectly. We changed a few words around and recorded it. The lyrics are the questions I find myself asking with regards to Christianity."

Oh, Sleeper is an amazing band. I don't believe in God at all. I was raised Catholic, but have seen enough shit to know God isn't there for anyone. Even though this band is Christian they are the shit.

On the contrary, this album follows a story line. Son of the morning did this somewhat but according to the lead singer it didn't follow this story. This album follows two people, one a small girl who is an atheist and an older man who has followed god all of his life. Children of fire starts where
son of the morning left off as Satan's horns hit the ground. Satan disappears as well as god. The little girl who is an atheist sees the epic battle and believes that god is the one true god. The man however sees god disappears and says "well this was a waste of time following a god who disappears." This is what its gonna be like in the end times.God will leave this earth and weak faiths will be compromised. This is why we as Christians should spread the word and bring up true and strong warriors in Christ!! To all who read this God Bless -
This song is indeed sad to hear and as a Christian it brings a tear to my eyes. Because I know there are so many people that feel this way.
The song is saying he has doubts of faith in his head that keep him from fully believing in God. Although at the end he wants to he's just asking for the means to believe.
Many search for the answers but are blinded by there doubts and they block the truth from themselves just pray for the truth and you'll find it. -

I heard that the guitarist singing the song is atheist even though the band is supposed to be christian. It is him basically saying that God has not given him or other people to ability to believe in him.
