Emperor's New Clothes Lyrics

Welcome to the end of eras
Ice has melted back to life
Done my time and served my sentence
Dress me up and watch me die
If it feels good, tastes good
It must be mine
Dynasty decapitated
You just might see a ghost tonight

And if you...

I believe that 'taking back the crown' suggests Satan(if that's what you call him) wants to be God and take the power/position or 'the crown.' I also think that 'i see what's mine and take it' means, like when Satan defied God, he saw what was there so the position of God in this case and of course being the most beautiful creature in the garden in all his vanity he at least tried to take that away by bringing in sin for example with tempting Eve to eat the fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. 'finders keepers, losers weepers' brings me to believe it means through his arrogance and vanity he thought he was something special and deserved and should have gotten whatever he wanted but evidently things didn't go that way. ;) something to think about...

I think he died in this is gospel and in this video went to heaven but god wouldn't let him he releases him to hell...and turns into a demon and at the end the gates open (which you can here at the end and also when he try's to enter heaven)and you can see satans shadow at the end as he comes put and breneden urine smiles.

I think it is like Lucifer turning to Satan in John Milton's Paradise Lost. He is condemned, but he is going to rule.

In this is gospel brendon urie dies at the very end of the video, which is shown at the beginning of the emperors new clothes video.
He is entering heaven but gets rejected and goes to hell (not sure why he goes there though)
He falls to hell and starts to become demonic.

"Welcome to the end of eras" means welcome to the end of your life.
"Done my time and served my sentence" means I had a lived my life and now its done
"Taking back the crown" means that he was important where he used to be and now he wants to gain back his importance where he is now.
"See what's mine and take it" means to steal something
"I am so much more thqn royal" means to be more than what is expected, wants to be the most important thing there and wants to be more than loyalty.

Basically the whole song is about gaining power, even after all the things you done that where either good or bad, regardless how everyone else thinks of you

I think it that this is interpretation of how people paid for their sins in hell and "taking back the crown" Meant as a metaphor for the Sin of Envy taking root in mankind

This is what I feel is true. The song is the sequel to This Is Gospel, in which Brendon 'died' and in this song, he goes to hell. (dark ik). He was "Taking back the crown" meaning that he was considered a big figure in his other life (in This is Gospel) and he did such bad things he is taking back the crown (being the biggest sinner in hell). This interpretation is ridiculous and even I doubt it is true. Bye.
