Time to Dance Lyrics

Well, she’s not bleeding on the ballroom floor
Just for the attention.
Cause that’s just ridiculous . . . ly odd
But she sure is going to get it
Here’s the setting
Fashion magazines line the walls
The walls line the bullet holes

The song is in fact based on invisible monsters, but you must read the whole book to comprehend the song. It's not a photo shoot, although the characters are models. don't want to give the book away, but it's basically about people who hide behind a persona that they are not. People living in a mess of pills, plastic surgery and false pretenses (hence the "aubergine dreams": it's a make up colour) the song is all about jealousy, revenge, and secrets.

This song is based on a really good book called Invisible Monsters.
In thee beginning of the book, there are two models at a wedding themed photoshoot. But, it's kinda twisted. One of the models is holding up a shotgun to the other (who is dead and bleeding). "have some composure, where is your posture, oh no no..... you're pulling the trigger all wrong" and "give me envy, give me malice, give me attention" are the things the photographer is saying to the lady with the gun. (look up the book on amazon to reas the beginning.)
If you read some of the book you'll understand why it says, "when I say shotgun, you say wedding: Shotgun! Wedding! Shotgun Wedding!"

That should clear some things up, the rest requires imagination.....

The song is based on a book called "Invisible Monsters". Search the book title on Amazon.com and read the first chapter. That should clear a lot of things up.
