P.O.D.: Alive Meaning
Alive Lyrics
I'm thankful for every breath I take,
I won't take it for granted,
So I learn from my mistakes,
It's beyond my control
Sometimes it's best to let go
Whatever happens in this lifetime,
So I trust in love,
You have...

Brilliant song, a shame that all truth is covered up! Wake up people!

First I want to point out that the album this song was released on was released September 11, 2001.
The song starts off with the singer acknowledging everyday is a new day and that he is thankful just to be alive. The chorus is set up with the lines "its beyond my control sometimes you gotta let go, whatever happens in this lifetime. So I trust in love, you have given me peace of mind." The chorus being lines of worship and thanks to God shows that because he has faith in God he can do anything in his lifetime, saying "and I think I can fly at the end."
The second verse talking about waking in the morning and having a new song, a new chance to do good, to live for God, shows again that he is thankful just to be alive. The singer acknowledges in this verse that he could be gambling with his life now for being open about his religion. Opening up for the chorus he again solidifies his stance and concretes it in the bridge saying, "And now that I know you, I will never turn my back away, now that I see you, I will never look away, now that I know you, I will never turn my back away, now that I see you, I believe no matter what they say!"
The song has a great beat but had it been released a day sooner or later it would never have been as effective as it was on that day. At times I wonder if God wrote this song using POD as his voice. If that is the case, was He using the references to flying as a way to warn us? A way to let the united states know what would happen?
