Radiohead: Go Slowly Meaning
Go Slowly Lyrics
Come slowly
Come slowly to me
I've been waiting
Patient
Patiently
I didn't get
But now I can see
That there's a way out
That there's a way out
That there's a way out
That there's a way...

This song is about a man who lost his job. And has killed him, and Maria go slowly go slowly because I find it hard t break the news to you.

I think that Thom has FOOLED US ALL,
Maria is CLEARLY his real identity and Thom Yorke is only is alter ego which has so triumphantly defied us endearing fans this whole time. These lyrics outline the stress of the lies Thom- well Maria, I should say, has been living and the song sees a glimpse of the possibility of him revealing his true identity aas 'Maria', as a 'way out' this pressurising life he leads. The fact that he's been so 'patient' with this only outlines my theory.

'Oh Maria' is Miriam. Egyptian name meaning beloved or perhaps loved by God, Amun. Also could be mirror of God. Therefore this would be one waiting patiently for God and 'there's a way out' could be simply reaching outside this realm/universe/consciousness and into the next/other.
I would interpret this as Thom reaching higher levels of intelligence and consciousness himself when he didn't care before. -
I think it's depressive's suicide song. Somebody who has suffered terrible depression and has had enough of this life and wants it to end suddenly has an epiphany and realises they can end it themselves. As someone who suffers with bipolar I think this is Thom's way of expressing his dark days. I suffer with it too and when I first heard this track it was obvious to me what he meant.
-
Definitely has a religious connotation. I interpret it as his eventual accepting of religion in his life and that "there's a way out" from the life that he was living previously.

i relate this song to death. the first words "over here, come slowly to me" transcribes his feelings towards his willingness to live. the next part, "i've been waiting patiently" is about his acceptation to the inevitability of death and "now i can see that there's a way out" ends this marvelous song telling you that there's a way out of this fucking world we live in. and that should make us cry with joy :) i know it makes me. peace!
