Lotus Flower Lyrics

I will shake myself into your pocket
invisible
Do what you want
Do what you want

I will sink and I will disappear
I will slip into the groove
and cut me off
and cut me off

There's an empty space inside my heart
where the weeds take...

I think it represents the start of an affair between two people who love each other but one has a partner and can't find a way to leave them. The feeling of one person trying to make them come to terms with the infatuation and to take the gamble of being together.

Thom said, the first time he played this song, that he wrote it whilst on holiday for his daughter. Therefore, it is my take that the song is more about a parent's struggle to come to terms with the fact that a child must grow to develop fully.

Thom has written two songs clearly about Noah: Sail you to the Moon, and Fog. So my theory is quite plausible.

Unrequited love. How one person will do anything and conform to any type of person for the other one. One loves them dearly and will sacrifice everything about him/herslef for the other person. But it doesn't matter, he/she gets nothing return; they just get ignored

LOTUS FLOWER = Unmutual love, one way love, infatuation, giving and getting nothing in return, moving on, acceptance.
