Radiohead: Last Flowers Meaning
Last Flowers Lyrics
I cannot keep up
Treading on people's toes
Snot-nosed little punk
And I can't face the evening straight
You can offer me escape
Houses move and houses speak
If you take me then you'll get relief
relief,...

This is a song that Tom Yorke wrote about what might be the last days of Kurt Cobain's state of mind.

This song is about heroin. Addiction. Depression. Staying sober... the snot nosed little punk is about HIMSELF. Take him to get some "flowers" heroin comes from poppy flower s so he can get relief. It's always too much..life, the drugs..then you make it to the hospital, or die.

This may not be a complete explanation but if you watch the film confessions , the song is featured in it and it ties in well with the lyrics its very sad when you look through the films point of view I was crying at the time :(

I see this coming from the point of view of a person seeking relief. He or she sees the world going "berserk" and it's "too much, too bright," and "too powerful" for this person. He or she is most likely either an elderly person or one who is old fashioned seeing the youth as "snot-nosed little punks." Also, when this person is speaking, he or she doesn't want to be interupted. He or she feels smothered by surrounding people. He or she is seeking an escape. This person may be waiting to die and for the time being, some sort of medication or drugs must suffice. This song is very moving and is definitely one of Radiohead's best.

This is one song that makes you just sit and reflect. It has such a powerful feel to it, every word has substance in the tune. I am absolutely in love with this song.
I think its about growing old and realizing your at the end of your days. When you're old you still have feelings and just want people to listen to what you have to say. Also, I thinks its about letting go of loved ones when there living in pain. Life is "too much, too bright, too powerful" and the only way to feel en escape is to release the old feelings.
