I believe this song is about suicide (red wine and sleeping pills). Prior to the one minute of silence during the song, the character in the song commits suicide. After the one minute of silence (usually carried out to acknowledge a person's death), the slightly happier instrumental is meant to resemble the moment when the person who committed suicide passes onto and enters the 'other side'.
