This is a song about the childhood of vocialist Anthony Kiedist, Base Player, Flea, and their first guitarist, Hilliel Slovak. The line, "We got together, and wrote on desks", refers to how Flea and Kiedest met. They sat next to eachother in driver education where they hit it off in Fairfax High School, also mentioned in the song, "We went to Fairfax High School, Jumped off roofs and into back pools".
