   Having grown up in Ann arbor, Michigan I found this song to be a good representation of my childhood. We love cinnamon. People are very friendly and open.
   
   "Cry me a future where the revelations run amok.....lion and tigers come running just to steal your love"
   
   The above verse (to me) seemed like it was saying that in Michigan there are revelations (facts) that are out in the open (for example, the lions sucking, red wings are the best..) Everyone knows the lions won't be going to the superbowl (still love em!) and everyone knows the red wings will be there come season end.
   
   "Out on the farm..............lions and tigers come running just to steal your love"
   
   This line invokes memories of my backyard where there would be so many ducks during the summer (and winter!). Ducks are plentiful in Michigan. Deep in the mitten probably refers to the city of Detroit (since it is located very deep in the mitten if you were to look at it that way!) where the Detroit lions and tigers come stealing your luck because you always want them to be good but they are always mediocre or worse.
   
   By the way, Michigan (if you can man up to the cold) is BY FAR the sweetest state (in terms of people, sports, summers, parties, girls, drugs) in the U.S. Anyone who says otherwise is just ignorant or doesn't know what they are talking about.
   
   Go Great Glove State!! (Go Lions!, Go Red Wings!, Go Tigers!, and last but not least Go Pistons!!

   That one anonymous guy is wrong. His dad moved back to Michigan when AK was older. He mentions to the "idiots" to read scar tissue. He needs to read the book himself. The book clearly states that his dad moved back... fuckface...

   Yea his dad introduced him to the drugs asking him if he wanted to smoke a joint he didn't get clean in California just completely stoned its in Scar Tissue by the book and read its an awesome book

   It's about escaping from his dads drug filled house to live with his mum for the first semester of 9th or 10th grade I can't remember and it's when his youngest sister was born. "show me how to make her grin when I'm in Michigan" saying that is mum is happy to see after he had been away.

   Hey man, it's not his dad's house where he got clean. His dad was always in Cali, and he got his son into drugs. Why the hell would his dad help him get clean at his house in Michigan, when he created this problem? Read the book, Scar Tissue, and you'll figure out that his mom's house has always been his sanctuary, and it still is to this day. Idiot.

   While it is about Anthony being from Michigan, I think it's more about hime escaping to his father's house in Michigan to get clean. The opening "life is my friend.. alludes to him enjoying his life again when clean. Most of the rest of it shows appreciation for the simpler, purer life away from the fake shallow California he was written about so often before.

   Michigan is the birth place of the legends anthony kiedis and the amazing chad smith. It includes 'lions and tigers' because anthony's name can be shortened to tony and he said he stoked a tiger and made a conecction. And he was born in the year of the tiger. It can also refer to the pro sports teams of detroit, michigan, the detroit lions and detriot tigers. Also this masterpiece talks about how michigan is mitten shaped. 'a mitten full of fishermen'.
