Red Hot Chili Peppers: Savior Meaning
Savior Lyrics
You were always my favorite
Always my man - All in a hand
To celebrate you is greater
Now that I can - Always my man
Now you see what I came for
No one here is to blame for
Misunderstand - All in a hand
Just...

this song is about his dad as mentioned in kiedis' book. "well you were always my favorite, always my man" which i don't think necessarily means he liked his mom more than his dad but he always liked being in LA with his dad growing up than with his mom in michigan. i think moreso because of the location and not the parent. in LA he basically got to party with his drug-running dad whereas in michigan he had a more traditional upbringing with his mom. "your hero's destined to waver, anyone can" is my favorite line. his dad's home was raided and anthony witnessed the whole ordeal of his dad going to jail. pretty great song.
