Rihanna: Suicide Meaning
Suicide Lyrics
-
I clearly think that she is talkin about a drug addiction cuz if you think about it Loving you is suicide she's basically killing herself by doing the drugs and she wishes she could go to sleep can't go to sleep when you're high off drugs not certain ones anyway but hey that's just my opinion on the song I could be wrong
-
I think the song means that somethings happened over the time of family/or love meaning that they just can’t take it anymore and or could be getting tired or how their treated in their family. Anyway I love this song cause I can kinda relate to it and well it’s and amazing way to show your emotions and how hard it is to keep them up!

In my opinion, Suicide sounds like it's about an abusive relationship. I'm not sure if this song was released before or after the Chris Brown incident, but either way, the song is quite powerful if you look at it this way.
The song has the atmosphere of worry and hardship throughout, and maybe even the feeling of being trapped. The first lyric that made me think of this scenario was ' I hate the way this feels. ' As if, the person singing hated both the relationship, and the fact they were still attatched despite the abuse.
'I wish that you would just put me down, I wish that I could go to sleep. '
This lyrics depicts the idea that the abused, in this case, wishes that the abuser would just let them go.
The lyric which is most compelling to this theory however, is ' But I heard you say you loved me, that's the part I can't forget. '
As in, the abused is stuck on the idea that the abused actually loves them. That's one of the things keeping the abused in this relationship.
' I should let you go, tell myself the things I need to hear. ' The abused knows the relationship is dysfunctional, and that they need to teach themselves that they are actually worth something.
' But my brain is wired wrong, that's why I'm loving you when you're not here. ' The abused has been manipulated to the point that they still have feelings for the abuser.
' Somehow you get me where it really hurts, It's killing every part of me. ' The abuser really knows how to get under the victims skin, and it's tearing the victim apart.
' Had as much as I can take, and love is a long way down. 'This can be interperated as two things; the abused has had enough, and has finally realised that the abused feelings towards them are nothing like love. Or, the abused has had enough, and knows it'll take a long time to find new love, but they know that if they start soon, it will take less time.
' It's getting harder everyday, I'm trying to keep myself alive, knowing there's a chance it's all too late. ' It's getting harder and harder for the abused to keep going, but they're still trying to keep their head above water, knowing that if they don't, they will never get the chance again.
' I'm way past every moment, but I'm still determind to fight, and I know it's taking all my strength, to keep emotions alive. ' This backs up my previous point.
And of course, the main lyric.
' Loving you is Suicide. '
Loving the abuser is killing the abused, thus making it suicide.
