Sabrina Carpenter: Exhale Meaning
Song Released: 2019
Exhale Lyrics
-
This song is about the high and unreachable expectations and goals that are given by both ourselves and others. When one is given a leadership role that they can't handle, hence the line "Who put the baby in charge?"Sabrina is the youngest of her family, therefore when she is given charge of the situation the feeling is alien and intimidating. The singer in the next verse says she puts too much on her situations, answers, and on herself, thinking she is not doing enough and trying to compensate for the earnings she thinks she doesn't deserve. The touching and relatable chorus, though at first it seems like she is asking everyone to cut her some slack and let her relax, it is also a message to herself to slow down and be patient with herself, she doesn't have to "be an angel," because though Sabrina is not perfect, she is good enough as herself.
This song is amazing and I love you Sab!
