Paris Lyrics
He don't even have to say, it's understood
He treat me nice, he treat me right, he treat me good
Still I get so hesitant, still I get so hesitant
So I took myself where I think I should...

This song can be kind of misleading, with the main chorus talking about Paris and all. But it's mainly about how people often love their partners... too much, and usually for the wrong reasons.
In the song, Carpenter says, "If you show me too much love, it makes me leave." I interpreted this as if her partner smothers her and asks more of her than she's comfortable with, then she knows she's been mistaking physical attraction for love, and she's not okay with that.
