The songs is about boys messing with you head. About boys leading you on, making you feel special and then drop you for someone else. It's about how you change for a boy. Like even when they make a mistake or done something wrong, you'll make up excuses for them and just let them hurt you.

This song is about power, finally realizing the boys not who you thought he was. Standing your ground and not wanting to have anything to do with them no more.

Selena said on a live show: "I wrote this song because I feel like a lot of people tend to change themselves for, well, lets be honest, a boy. And that's what I did. I'll never make that mistake again, though. I'm sorry I'm not what you wanted me to be, but I'm not going to apologize for what I am."
