Did It Again Lyrics
-
Shakira's "I Did it Again", is about Shakira being involved in a steamy love affair with a man that is married. Since it says "First floor, room 16." this must've been the room where they'd meet. "I'm in trouble (yes I know) but it feels like heaven." This says, that she knew that she was getting involved and she could get into serious trouble with his wife, but she can't help but feel heavenly when she's "with him".
"You were like one of those guys
The kind with a wandering eye" Means that the guy is uncommitted to his marriage. "But I said, "hey what the hell, once in my life I'll take a ride on the wild side" She means, that she didn't know that he had a wife and she was just wanted to try a guy like him.
"I packed my bags, I liked your moves
Anyone could tell that it's hard to deny that" She means that he practically seduced her into sleeping with him.
"Did it again, love
I got it all wrong
But it felt so right
I can't believe it.
And all the mistakes
That went on for too long
Wish there was a way
I could delete it"
So here, she finally slept with him and in the morning she realizes that it was a complete mistake, but it's almost as if she's addicted to him.
"How blind a girl can be
To miss you hide your ring
Thought about everything
I'm so naive even I should've known that." She finds out that he's married and feels stupid and naive.
"It may seem to you that I am in a place
Where I'm losing the direction of my life
But I'm sure that this is nothing but a phase
"Right back at ya," cause I'll survive..." So here, it basically says he saw her as vulnerable and an easy target, but she knows that it will be the last straw.
