Shakira: Inevitable Meaning
Song Released: 1998
Inevitable Lyrics
no se preparar cafe
y no entiendo de futbol
creo que alguna vez fui infiel
juego mal hasta el parques
y jamas uso reloj
y para ser mas franca nadie
piensa en ti como lo hago yo
aunque te de lo mismo
si es...

In this song, the person has probably just gotten out of a relationship but hasn't forgotten their former lover and let it all go yet. It says:
"If it's a matter of confessing,
I don't know how to make coffee
Nor do I get anything about football.
I think I've been unfaithful sometime
I play even parqués badly
And I never wear a watch.
And to be more honest,
No one thinks about you like I do,
Even if it's the same thing in the end."
[She is pouring her soul out, being honest about what she really felt and trying to bare her soul to her lover. She needs him to know that no one thinks of him like she does, even if if won't change the fact that they're not together anymore, even if it doesn't seem to make a difference in the situation.]
"If it's a matter of confessing,
I never sleep before 10PM
And I don't shower on Sundays.
Truth is, I also cry once every month
Especially when it's cold."
[She cries every month when she gets more emotional, and it's even harder to take when it's cold, because her loneliness increases.]
"With me nothing is easy,
You should know that already,
You know me well.
The sky is tired of watching the rain fall down,
And every day that goes by is another like the one before
I can't find any way to forget you, because
To keep on loving you
Is inevitable.
I always knew it was better,
When you must talk about two,
To start with yourself."
[She means that, if she really must talk about how things didn't work out between them, she must start by assuming her share of the blame for the failed relationship, because it can't be built by one person alone.]
"You have to know the situation,
Here everything is worse,
But at least I'm still breathing.
You don't have to say it,
You won't come back.
I know you well.
(I'll see what to do with myself)
The sky is tired of watching the rain fall down,
And every day that goes by is another like the one before
I can't find anyway to forget you because
To keep on loving you
Is inevitable.
I always knew it was better,
When you must talk about two,
To start with yourself."
