I feel that this song means that we can be constantly trying to attempt things over and over again in the same fashion, without success. "We don't know what we're doing, let's do it again". As opposed to trying it differently. "With amateur friends", seeking advice from equally inexperienced mates. They don't learn from experience,- "every day we still cry"- and are always still disappointed when it fails once again -"every night we still cry."
