System of a Down: ATWA Meaning

Album cover for ATWA album cover

ATWA Lyrics

Hey you, see me, pictures crazy
All the world I’ve seen before me passing by
I’ve got nothing, to gain, to lose
All the world I’ve seen before me passing by
You don’t care about how I feel
I don’t feel it any more
You don’t care about how I...

I think this song can be considered a political song. About seeing everything going on around you being the little man and not being able to change a thing. It focuses on how governed we are by democracy in our countries and how we as drones can't do anything to change it we have to just watch.

To me it means that watching television is now pretty boring but since he has watched so much of it everything has become predictable so he is bored of life

i thought that the ATW- in ATWA meant "All The World" and the final -A could stand for "Around" or "Away" or sth like that...

    :/

I believe this song is indeed a love sing because he feels like he has nothing left in his life you can tell because he is saying " I don't eat anymore I don't sleep anymore!"

I'm not going to try and interpret this song, but I will say that it's to do with manson. Manson wasn't a satanist though. He was a cult leader who believed (or at least told his disciples) that he was the saviour reincarnated. Not a satanist, wiccan, buddhist, mormon or anything else someone will try and attribute him to.

Just a question, why does almost every song interpretation end up in a pathetic argument? Lol.

Air, trees, water, animals is part of a religious belief of the wiccans/vampires/pagans/satanism (omg hahaha laugh laugh, you're an immature idiot) and the belief of energy and how through self control they can use energy for personal gain and that energy is in everything, air, trees, water, animals. I believe charles manson was a satanist? Someone correct me...

Okay, to the guy above, atwa has completely to do with charles manson. Atwa was an organization he started, which stands for air, trees, water, animals.

its the other way around to the first dude that posted some thing because its Darron who like Charles Manson and I REALY thought its a song to him because I like Charles Manson. Just what he says not what he did. And sometimes I just wonder if SOAD just does shit like this to fuck with there fans heads because I mean ATWA wtf does that have to do with the song not real any thing because the song isn't realy related to charlie at all and if you disagree then add me to your msn anderson_stewart_69@hotmail.com so we can talk

sure it could be about Charles Manson, but it could also be about a girl you left some one, and how they felt after words.

K, many people won't agree but when I heard this song I thought of it like a mental guy in an isolated room singing that song to himself. I know ATWA has nothing to do with that, but that's how I thought of it :)
