System of a Down: Kill Rock 'n Roll Meaning
Song Released: 2006
Kill Rock 'n Roll Lyrics
felt like the biggest asshole!
when I killed your rock and roll.
Mow down the sexy people!
Every time I look in your eyes,
every day I'm watching you die.
All the faults I see in you, about how...
-
Again...multiple meanings to this one. The song is about the rabbit, true, but it is also about the overuse of pot in the world of fame, hence the line, 'Eat all the grass that you want' The line 'Accidents happen in the dark' is saying that Daron hit the rabbit at night. 'Mow down the sexy people' most likely refers to either the Armenian genocide, the band's abhoration towards pop music, or the permiscuous sexual habbits of the rabbit...and that they frequently get 'mowed down' by hunters, vehicles, kids with guns, etc.

well, they said, that sometimes they just write something that they even don't understand...That's why it's hard to translate their lyrics...i understand their songs even without translating or something...

System of a down is a unique band and they always try to be different than all of the mainstream bands. This is why they make some of their crazier songs that you would never hear anything like from any other band. Kill Rock 'n Roll is referring to killing the stereotype of typical rock 'n roll. As said by Daron, right before performing this song at their concert in Trabendo Paris, "Sometimes, in order to save something, you have to kill it."

Hey, that's a good interpretation (not to mention, Daron actually said that part about running over the rabbit, you're right). The first thing I thought of when I heard it was "damn hippies." Seriously. I think it's that damn rock 'n roll they listened to. :P you know, they can "eat all the grass" the want to (read: smoke pot), and "accidents happen in the dark" refers to being high and/or having promiscuous sex where unwanted pregnancy results from. just my two cents added to yours.

I think "mow down the sexy people" is referring to how rabbits are considered an animal of a sort of playful sexuality. (playboy bunny, etc.)
-
This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

I think this song is about how rock stars are many peoples' idols, even though the people do not know who they really are inside. When they are referring to "mow down the sexy people", I believe they are saying that they shouldn't idolize rock stars. When they say "eat all the grass that you want", I am beleiving they are talking about smoking weed, and how rock stars do it, that is what I think.
