#1 top rated interpretation:The song is about a shallow person who was genuinely loved, but was faking, secretly up to no good, taking advantage, and how that secret will come around full circle. Afraid to be alone, they take in any admiring company they can find, only to be left ultimately alone, truly incapable of leaving their own vanity to love someone other than them self. Love is the very thing this person needs the most. However this person sees it as a burdensome weight. A seemingly thriving life, is shallow, void, and truly lonely.

#2 top rated interpretation:Although i have never followed the black keys, I can relate to this song soo much. I come to understand that the lead singer went through a divorce and is speaking of his ex wife as someone who he thinks is incapable of ever being in love, with not just him but with anyone. At the same time i get this sense that he loved her but in the end that was not enough. In the time of break up we experience heartache, sorrow, and even at times depression. He mentions, "Don't give yourself away to the weight of love." I finally understand what he means, because being sad about a breakup is just a phase. if you let the weight of love take over it can bring you down. the challenge in life is skipping this step.

Love this song! Speaks to so many levels....a young girl on the run looking for love in the arms of any man who may pay her a bit of attention, regardless of his true intentions. The divorce the lead singer speaks volumes as well.
Enjoy!! A great concert if you ever have a chance to go watch them!!
