A lot of people seem to think this is a breakup song. It struck me as an ode to star crossed lovers. The lyrics seem to point to another man being involved, which tells me there's a love triangle situation happening. I feel like the narrator is seeing a married, or taken, woman who doesn't quite know what she wants. Maybe I'm wrong. I love the fact that the black keys stay low profile, so I don't mind guessing the meaning behind their music as opposed to them outright discussing it.
