The Cab: Angel with a Shotgun Meaning
Song Released: 2011
Angel with a Shotgun Lyrics
An angel with a shotgun, shotgun, shotgun..)
Get out your guns, battles begun,
are you a saint, or a sinner?
If loves a fight, than I shall die,
with my heart on a trigger.
They say before...

#1 top rated interpretation:One word: Destiel
I know I’m not the only one who sees it and it’s perfect! Just looking at the lyrics made me ship Destiel even harder which I didn’t think was possible. Haha fandom killed me -

#2 top rated interpretation:Its simply put a song of devotion.
"If love is what you need, a soldier I will be" This shows that the singer is willing to put himself on the line for his affection.
"I don't care if heaven won't take me back" This line could mean he's willing to go to hell, or in a life terms of it likely that he's willing to be shunned by society for her sake.
"Before you start a war, you better know what your fighting for" Entirely telling you that you need to know what you love and if it truly is love before becoming the "angel with a shotgun"
The whole idea of "Angel with a Shotgun" says someone pure, or peaceful but is willing to be violent for the sake of whoever the angel is protecting. -

Interpretation isn’t that difficult. I’ve been married almost 10 years. We’ve been through it all. And I love this song so much.
This song is nothing more than someone saying they will fight to the end for their love no matter what.
The strongest line in this song and the most obvious is “if love is what you need, a soldier I will be”
That’s pretty self explanatory. Relationships aren’t easy and sometimes you have to fight for them.
I’m going to assume the person who wrote it obviously has a busy life and is away a lot. Leaving the girl to feel lonely or unloved. Maybe she struggles with emotional issues, abandonment but I’d lean more towards the side of depression because he is really pressing the point of this being a “war” or “battle” and outside of duties and people…that’s the only battle I can think of where heaven and hell would be perfect analogies to use for this beautiful song.
Basically…he really really loves this woman and he’s willing to fight for their relationship and do what it takes for that love. He doesn’t care about anyone or anything. Just proving his love for her and making sure she knows it. -
Twilight's interpretation of "Angel with a shotgun" by The Can.
It's a song that refers to how much lengths a religious person in deeply in love would go through if they were to ever choose between saving their love vs. following their spiritual devotion to a deity.
"I wanna live not just survive" talks about how this person wants to fight for the things that make life loveable and memorable. It's easy to survive and be an emotionless husk of a human, but it's harder to live your life to fullest while chasing after what makes you happy.
"I'll throw away my faith, babe. Just to keep you safe" this person is willing to go through excommunication just to follow his heart and keep it safe. I think this song is all about going through extremeties just for the sake of ones love life. -
1: at the beginning of the song when the lyrics say "Are you a Saint or a Sinner?" I think that means someone is asking the singer of the song if they want to go through with the plan (Sinner) or let the professionals do it and stay back (Saint) Obviously the singer chose to be a Sinner by going through with the Plan
2: When the lyrics say "I don't care if heaven won't take me back" it means that the Singer is willing to be held back from Heaven/go to hell for his love to be saved.
3: When the lyrics say "If loves a fight then I shall die with my heart on a trigger" I'm pretty sure that speaks for itself. The singer is willing to die for his love to be saved.
4: when the lyrics say "If love is what you need a soldier I will be" it means the singer is willing to protect his love and sacrifice himself for her love.

I believe this song is about loyalty. Whenever I hear this song, I remember that I would do anything for those I care about, such as my friends and family. I know I would always stand up for them and protect them in every way possible, just as this song indicates. Loyalty and love, two things that both clash and go hand in hand. You are loyal to those you love, but sometimes you're loyal to other thing that say you can't always be loyal to those you love. If you're an "Angel with a Shotgun," like in the song, then you are willing to go against the world to protect your cherished community.

Every time I listen to this song, I think of the show supernatural, because of how Castiel was willing to throw away his faith to get dean out of hell, and how he betrayed heaven to fight the war with Sam and Dean. And he died multiple times ( I cried at every one! I thought he wasn’t gonna come back!) to help keep the Winchester brothers safe.

In my interpretation is I think it's about someone who used to be a Christian but realizes that some people who are believers hence "angels" are not out there to help people and only out there to harm people but he still believes that there are good "angels" out there so he doesn't want to abandon his religion just yet he has to break the rules cause he doesn't know who is the "angel" trying to help people or harm people *my explanation on why I think this* I was raised Christian but when I came out as trans female and bi I rejected christianity due to my parents saying at the time that being LGBT is bad so I turned Wicca/satanist but I'm still agnostic to christianity

Taking this into anime terms, for me, it means that someone fell in love and then died. After they died they became an angel and the only way to come back to life was to kill another angel, and they were willing to do anything to come back to life so that they could be with the one that they loved. Otherwise, this is truly a heart touching song with or without knowing what the meaning is. I recommend it to anybody like me, indescribable.

Whenever I listen to this song I am put into my world and I just start mouthing the lyrics and dance, it's great, really great. Especially when I'm mad, I just picture people running around shouting; "I'm AN AnGlE WItH A shOtGUUUUuuUuuUN!" start cackling folks. For me, the song is about two people -I think about my characters (Author life XD)-
who care about each other and want the best. One character is feeling really down and the other is promising safety and affection to make the downer feel better! -
I think it means that even if he gets into trouble or hurt he will do anything for her.
-
For me this song is about forbidden love and how hard the person will fight for it.
-
For me it’s a soldier that willing to risk his life for his country and it’s people
-
I think it means that your partner will do anything to protect you and make sure your ok,and a whole lot of other meanings but hey what do I know.Im in love right now but I'm still trying to figure it out.So all you folks out there that are in love or more than that. The only advice I can give ya'll is that 'Just breathe and take it one day at a time' "Don't worry and be happy" everyone.

I think it is about Sam and deans relationship and how Castiel gave up everything he had ever known to save one person, even when people claimed that Sam and Dean were insignificant humans, Castiel always and only talked about how important they are and the world can’t live without them. And he was right because he didn’t compare himself to them like the other angels did, he looked at everything they have done, and knew that it had made a difference, because if it weren’t for them, the apocalypse would have started and the world would be thrown into chaos and death. He looked at how much they could do, how amazing they are, and betrayed everyone he knows and changed completely, giving his life for them several times. His love for Sam and Dean even penetrated the empty when he died. The thing in the empty said that none had ever woken up, because they didn’t have someone they loved as much as Castiel loves Dean.
