The Civil Wars: To Whom it may Concern Meaning
To Whom it may Concern Lyrics
Why are you so far from me?
In my arms is where you are to be
How long will you make me wait?
I don't know how much more I can take
I missed you but I haven't met you
Oh but I want to
How I do
Slowly counting down the days
Till I...

A beautiful song with hopeful patience in the waiting for wanting to love and be loved by the special one, one is waiting for by asking and writing to The Universe with a love letter ''To Whom It May Concern'' for anybody out there in The Higher Power to help him/her find his/her loved one that he/she hasn't met yet, but wholeheartedly wants to, to also remind me of the two tracks by Cat Stevens ''Where are you? and ''How can I tell you? that to me, both and all together are just beautiful.

Personally I really think this song was written about Joy waitin to meet her baby, but on the other hand it could be about waiting to meet the one you love.. Maybe because they both wrote it it is somewhat about both these things!

the singer wants to reach someone close by heart but he/she doesn't know how to get in touch with them. or the fear to let their guard down, probably scared of being hurt and used by person they loved.

I'm going to be using this as a walking down the aisle song...it's like a coming closer together to the next step. You're just at the beginning of your journey as a married couple.
Just another way of thinking about it! -
I'm pregnant right now and this song is all about my baby. I'm in love with this child and I miss it, but I've never met it. I don't know it's name or the way it laughs and I'm counting down the days until I meet him/her!!! That's what this song means to me.

I think this song is an interpretation of how people feel when they are looking for "the one". They have a longing for their other half and they "miss them" even though they haven't met each other yet.
