O Valencia! Lyrics
-
A boy and a girl from the 1940s or 30s love each other but they are from rival gangs; so their love is forbidden and they try to meet in secret, he throws a pebble at her window to get her attention but not attract anyone else’s, and they hang out and be together, but the girls sister finds out and tells their father and he is furious and the girls brother is especially angry so he attempts to kill the boy but because the girl ‘Valencia’ loves the boy so much she jumped in front of him as her brother was shooting at the boy and she got shot right in the heart and she fell to the ground in the boys arms as she spoke her final words (supposedly) “I love you” and she died bleeding his arms, the boys sorrow quickly turned to anger as he declared he’d burn the whole city down in his pained rage.
