The Fray: Trust Me Meaning
Trust Me Lyrics
Alone and I'm in between
The place that I'm from and the place that I'm in
A city I never been
I found a friend or should I say a foe
Said there's a few things you should know
We don't want you to see we...

#1 top rated interpretation:My interpretation of the song is that it's about the situation of a child who doesn't understand why such horrible things could happen to them or to others around them. Sometimes a person can be there, can be such a great friend, and you'd always think that they would be there, but then the next day they are gone. Each person faces their own sadness, their own problems, so we're not alone. Sometimes, people don't tell the truth and sometimes you don't know who to trust; it's how many humans are, or rather, that is life. Nobody ever truly understands why such horrifying things could happen to a person, or people, but it's just goes to show that life is not going to be so perfect with super heroes and rainbows like kids imagine them to be, rather, life is filled with its unpredicted predicaments. There comes an age that you (anyone) reach that would finally help you understand why things may go that way.
(I'm going in order to how the song is, so the sentences don't flow together, but each sentence is like the interpretation of each stanza..or so.) -
I think this song is about a teenage still growing up , going into the real word perhaps starting high school being confused on certain things. Probably discovering sexual intercourse or sexuality , and a mistake that was made. So the person singing is telling his story when he was younger. “ we’re only taking turns holding this world” between his younger self and older self “ when you’re older you will understand “ it implies a switch between reality because now he’s about 25 probably soon to be married or maybe have a kid and he’s confused and worried

I think the song is about him talking to his younger self. He was in a relationship/friendship previously, that didn't work out. He's trying to tell to his youngerself that he now understand why it did not work out, or maybe not. "When you're older you will understand. But then again maybe you don't. But the again maybe you won't."

This is a song about a crisis of faith, obviously bad things have happened, and you can never change the past, but when you look to the future you just have to be optimistic and have faith.
-
It's about life- how things never go as we plan, never as we want, never as we imagine...how life is temporary and passing, and we only take turns, as it were, living, because our lives are just a blip in existence...and the sooner we realise that, the sooner we can truly embrace our lives.

I think this song about a young person making new changes and moving on from a troubled past. The person meets someone new but that someone could tell that the person was broken and had issues. The someone has sympathy for this young person who's experience more trouble and stress than a young person should have to. The someone is trying to comfort this young person and help her/she out.

I think this song is just simply a story. Slade is telling us a story about an experience he has had with someone who has given him some life advice.
"When you're older, you will understand. But then again maybe you won't"
I think that bridge is the older man or the one with experience saying "Hey, I'm not even sure I have it all figured out yet" -
I believe this is about a child switching off betweens mom and dad's houses. My parents recently got divorced and I interpret it that way :)

I'm not too sure what the meaning is but if anybody watches Merlin, go on you tube and type "the fray - trust me" and click on the Merlin video. Trees just some clips and it really changes the way you look at the song and you would be surprised at how well the song fits with Merlin.
Love the gray sooo much!! Blue Bree x -
The song is about The Fray in their earlier days before they became popular. More experienced artists gave advice to them when they really seem unsure about it themselves.
"Looking for something I've never seen,
Alone and I'm in between,
The place that I'm from and the place that I'm in,
A city I've never been"
Perhaps just arriving in Hollywood or Los Angeles, seeking fame, but not sure where to find it. Feeling lonely, maybe a little scared.
"I found a friend or should I say a foe,
Said there's a few things you should know,
We don't want you to see we come and we go,
Here today, gone tomorrow"
He finds someone with experience in the profession he seeks, who shares advice with him. He's saying that in a big city, it's hard to find friends who stick around. -
I think that this song is about what a person faces in his daily life...but no one is actually aware of it. It is very hard to find true people. And whenever it's time to let go...you let go, and pass it on...
-
I think this is a song about how this younger man meets a guy who he really doesn't trust or like, hence the foe part, but the guy tells him like is.
-
This is about a person with more life experience telling a person who has never faced tragedy to watch out, it will come eventually, and that the only way we keep the world going is by each person taking a turn holding the weight of the world until the person can't stand it anymore and passes it on to the next person.

I think this song is about this older gentelmen telling a younger boy that when he's older he will understand things
he never understood before or he might not it all depends on what he does.
I sure hope I got this right, I might be way off so if I am I'm sorry:)hope this at least helps you to figure out the corret meaning:)
