Be Somebody Lyrics
Trying to trace my steps back here again, so many times
I'm just a speck inside your head, you came and made me who I am
I remember where it all began, so clearly

#1 top rated interpretation:The story I made out of this song: This guy is feeling alone, yet is being reminded of someone he cares about (Girlfriend maybe?)This reminds me of someone at my school (no names shall be said 0.0) and me always going unseen. And yet, I find him looking at me and locking my gaze once and a while. Back to the song, we do all want to be somebody. Around here, only famous people or popular people (School -.-) are the 'Somebody's'. The rest of us are nobody. But hey, people should be a little more like me. You know, outgoing, fun loving. Maybe even take it to the next level and be extremely loud like me! XD This song is totally about the lust of wanting to be someone and wanting to sacrifice but never being brave enough. The girlfriend(?) in the story is what brightens up his life and keeps him going :D Thanks for reading! I hope this helped your understanding :D

Though some of the interpretations on this song are true. I believe they're not fully accurate, as this song is not talking about a lover. They are talking about how they want to be more and do more but they feel that they are but a shell of who they really are. Everyone wants to be a somebody but are afraid of the sacrifice that's needed to reach that level. It also talks about how God gives the singer new vision hence the line "When all I could see was the floor you made my window a door" This person struggles with wanting to do something great but is scared of the what ifs that may happen.

the person who posted on 14 august 2014 is true. But this song represented my best friend. I was bullyed before he came in my life and made me who i am. This was about God i feel spirit connection with him

I think this song says that a guy is very imperfect himself and he found a girl that makes him feel normal... but he's a spec inside of her brain, and she doesn't think of him... and he wants her to like him,and so forth "we all want to be sombody" in this case I think it means that he wants to be sombody she thinks of.❤

The person who posted on 8/14/14 is right, but I think it goes a little deeper than that. This isn't just a typical "I love God" Christian song; it feels more like the words of someone who knows that they are very very imperfect, but still hopes and feels that God made them and is a part of them. They hope that, even though they are imperfect, others would be able to see that they're still one of God's children.
On a more personal spin; Everyone is God's child, not just those that organized religion parse out as "good." -
I feel that this song tells us that we all aspire to be somebody whoever it is that we admire however the best we can be is to be ourselve however many aren't willing to go that far.. of being themselves

He is so going about his faith in God. How child like it is "the boy inside the man" also he is singing about how God helps him "made my window a door" this song has many religious aspects of it and it's spiritual too.

:I Ok. I'll give my interpretation. This song is a pretty honest song and kind of gets right to the point. We all want to be someone not a nobody. The song is saying that who we are is inside. e-e I'm not to good at this, but that's what I got....OTL It's horrible.
