#1 top rated interpretation:I love this song. I love the emotion I feel and connection to the haunting lyrics.
a broken heart, cant let go of a previous love. Struggling to move on and start with someone new. emptiness, anger and at this time unable to open his heart up and love again. I think
"I wanna learn to love, all my tears been used up on another love..." -
I think this songs about not being able to love because of a past relationship where theyve hurt the creator alot and hes (Tom) is now worried to love again or just doesnt know how.

I totally get this song he likes this person but is still cut up and hurt by his last relationship so much that he is finding it hard to feel , to try to live again. The imagery of the dappodils is very clever as it symbolizes spring and new beginnings he wants to offer this so badly by explains they won’t bloom like they did last year as he is still hurt by this event separation or previous relationship he is so numb he can’t cry he can’t live but so desperately wants to ! Kind of like this first cut is the deepest brilliant lyrics

i think this song is about not being able to move on from a past love. He feels haunted by it and wants to start afresh but his feelings for the past person are still there. The memories all come flooding back.
