Adam Lambert: Aftermath Meaning
Aftermath Lyrics
Livin' in the shadow of the messes that you made
And so it goes
Everything inside your circle starts to overflow
Take a step before you leap
Into the colours that you seek
You'll get back what you give away
So don't look...
-
You feel the weight
Of lies and contradictions that you live with, everyday
It's not too late
Think of what could be if you rewrite the role you play
I'd focus on this verse and share with you my interpretion in the perspective of a young adult.
For the first time living away from my family, as a young adult, at an unfamiliar land, this had given me new experience. Having to deal with hypocrisy on daily basis is nothing easy. The lies and contradictions being told through rumours can somehow be very psychologically manipulating and eventually we become that one person we pledged not to be! We become accustomed to such way of living.
However, as long as we still have the chance, it is never too late to change the way be live our life. From being someone who follows the crowd to fit in the society, we shall rewrite the role we play as the fellow beings of our neighbours; become someone who cares for others and have good philosophical principle in life. -
Oh yeah, alright, i have a different perspective of this song and of course I shall share it with you,
This is the meaning:
We are indeed living in a mess, economically, financially, educationally, systematically, etc. in curruption. the stress, mentally, physically, emotionally. We are trying to adjust to our current life in how they say "the way it is" so it is overflowing as we think of this all together and notice by notice. observe, be curious and ask why things are how they are, investigate, step by step. let yourself be interested by this. Also think of it in a Spiritual perspective, which is encouraged. Hint: chakras in the seven colors. In our daily lives we keep expierencing negative drama with inaccurate answers, and annouced lies and half truths that are encouraged as truth and the whole truth thats takes advantage of our ignorance often. "You'll get back what you give away So don't look back on yesterday" talks about karma both good and bad (depends on what you put out) although in this case it is better reffered to the good side, only give and don't expected anything in return:) You don't want to be always in some type of fear and remain there do you? Relieve yourself, release anything left that you bottled up inside you in some way that's comfortable for you, even if you actually need to drive somewhere in the middle of nowhere and scream your lungs out. you don't want to remain in a fearful state any longer. I know things will get a lot better later on in the future-present. the aftermath is when we know that we should stop reacting, and stop following false leaders, distinguish that. btw, there's is no one man savior, something to think about:) Don't be afraid to seek truth, your inner truth distinguish what you resonate with, strive to seek for truth, thats part of our life purpose:O
you have to surely know and prepare your readiness of this positive aftermath, you have to trust in the process, and submit to your full enlightenment, practice & express the unconditional love quality we came here to do, and show unconditional forgiveness. So much that you become love so to speak.
Deep shit?
Perhaps...
thats how deep this song is:) -
Sometimes a person is lost and doesn't know how to face certain problems in this case his/her sexuality. Some gay, lesbian and transgender people believe that they are sick, they do not deserve to be happy to feel love, “they lost their way". They lie and contradict the truth of who they really are, they do not accept it, they lose themselves, feel depressed and sometimes not even worthy of feeling happy - living in the shadow of the message that you made” - lying to people of who you really are.The song tells us that there should be “no more hiding” of who you are. There are gonna be people who are going to hate you, people who tell you that you are “not allowed” but remember that there will always be people who are going to help you through your struggle, going to tell you “you’ll be alright in the aftermath”. Don’t lie to people you only hurt yourself, “don't be afraid whats inside” and remember that you “are not alone”. Even if you lied before you need to open up “ take a step before you leap” and open up “tell a stranger that their view is full” - they finally see you for who you are. Everyone deserves to be happy, it doesn't matter what your sexuality is as you are much more than just who you choose to sleep with, don’t hide, accept the truth, react and you will get better in the aftermath.
