Adele: Chasing Pavements Meaning
Song Released: 2008
Chasing Pavements Lyrics
Don't need to think it over,
If I'm wrong I am right,
Don't need to look no further,
This ain't lust,
I hope this is love but,
If i tell the world,
I'll never say enough,
Cause it was not said to you,
And that's...

1TOP RATED
#1 top rated interpretation:Should she tell him or let go would it be worth it. Does she really want to hear the response if his feelings for her are not the same. Like unrequited love. She's going to tell him because whatever the outcome she will know her direction after. Does she proceed to keep on loving him or does she let go once and for all. Either way she needs to stop chasing pavement life is to short.

#2 top rated interpretation:Should she give dreaming of being with the person she wants or should she "just keep chasing pavements"? She wants him but she can no longer chase pavement it gets her no where.

3TOP RATED
#3 top rated interpretation:I think chasing pavements IS expressing your feelings to the person you know very well. Someone you "know where your place is" you take the plunge and even if it leads nowhere, at least you tried.
Giving up is when you keep quite and keep the current relationship you have with him. But She wonders if it is a waste...
Love this song. -
This review 2 below. Tell Patrice to get back into the bedroom and do her duties, also she is here trying to count characters but she needs to finish school first. Of she doesn't sort this out soon she can chase some pavements out my home as it's late and I need servicing. This song is about a women who Is asking for too much and is probably on the time of the month.

The song was inspired by an incident Adele had with a former boyfriend of six months.[4] After learning he had cheated on her, she went to the bar he was at and punched him in the face.[4] After being thrown out, Adele walked down the street alone and thought to herself, "What is it you're chasing? You're chasing an empty pavement."[5][6] She sang and recorded it on her mobile phone and arranged the chords when she got home.[4] "Chasing Pavements" is written in the key of C minor. (wiki)
~ I guess we are not friends anymore, goodbye
This song is about bf/gf not about friends or something! -
Some pavements lead to nowhere some lead to great places, and it's hard to get back to the same pavement again, if you've walked to far away, whatever risk she is thinking of taking for love, she is comparing it to pavements because it could lead somewhere great, or nowhere, but if she takes the risk, she can't go back on it.
-
It's a question song, where the singer is asking a question and is unsure of how to handle a situation, Adele is maybe in love with a friend or in an unhappy relationship or maybe not in love at all and is wondering whether she should persuit looking for true love, or feeling she has for someone, or stay as she is now, happy/ decently happy, or persuit her love knowing it could lead nowhere and ruin a friendship and a relationship and she couldn't go back to the way it was before. So if she takes the risk, she couldn't ever go back and she is singing about how she is unsure if she should take the risk. That's my opinion but it might not be right, as I don't know exactly what Adele was thinking but I hope you found it useful :))))

For me this song means "should I settle for a love that won't last instead of waiting for the right one for example(chasing pavements for me means to keep walking on the path away from the wrong person and keep waiting) It also means that with this said should give up on love and stay single forever.I think this song has a different impact on a particular individual with a particular circumstance and past experience.

This song simply means that she is deeply in love with a construction worker. However, it is not socially acceptable to stalk people, so she has to chase his work life. This song computes her frustrations on having to chase unpaved, (or in the process of being paved) sidewalks.

I see that this song isn't just about relationships ......it has a moral meaning about dreams what ever they are ....Adele is talking about that moment of hesitation when someone is not sure of his success in achieving his goal(s) even it was a relationship or a dream of being a footballer ..
I think I'm in the same moment right now!!! I don't know wether it's gonna be a waste if I failed or no :'( -
She love the guy bt she is not sure dat da guy flt da same....so she is doing interpersonal skill"should i give up or should i kpn chasing pvment" nd she knwz excly dat it may hppn leads no whre

This song is about unrequited love. She is in love with someone who doesn't love her that much. So, she is asking herself if she is going to pursue her feelings for him. Even though, She knows that what they have might not lead anywhere.
-
Adele is trying to say that she really loves this person however the other person doesn't love her back so she's trying to figure out if she should keep on chasing him hoping that maybe eventually he'll realize that he loves her.She is choosing whether to keep going for him or choosing to forget about him.
-
There is not a doubt she cares for this person deeply probably loved or loves them. She stopped putting effort in because it was pointless to "chase pavement". It just got tiring and time is passing by with no change. You can hear the weariness in her voice when she sings.
-
In my personal opinion, she is in love with a married man and she would want to continue this because she loves doesn't give her a definitive future as the guy is married or will she give it up, and does the line "should I give up or I just keep on chasing pavement..."
-
She's really loves this someone but unsure if they feel the same. She's never expressed her feelings to him. Perhaps she can't for whatever reason. Maybe she's scared he doesn't feel the same way. Either way she's getting tired of chasing pavement it's pointless. It's an awful feeling and I can relate. Being the one feeling like this is not a happy feeling.
