Adele: Hiding My Heart Meaning
Hiding My Heart Lyrics
I met someone by accident
It blew me away
It blew me away
It was in the darkest of my days
When you took my sorrow and you took my pain
And buried them away, you buried them away
I wish I could lay down...

My take on this song is that, it's about painful experiences about love. She once gave her all, she once loved and invested so much but in return she got hurt and left behind. That's why it made her trust less, hesitate, and holding back her feelings as the song says "But like everything I've ever known you'll disappear one day so I'll spend my whole life hiding my heart away..." her pain from the past kept haunting her. She'd rather hide her heart away than risking a possible pain again. This song is so relatable and really vulnerable. Love the way it was sung and written

She fell in love with someone but she also realized that they do not fit into each others life, and in the end it will only lead to hurt and pain. So she cuts him off although she loves him deeply, and she goes on leading her daily life without him, while hiding her real feelings.

Love can touch us for one time and last for a last time. Oh! i loved the verse from My heart will go on. You'll never feel the same for other person like you had on ur 1st crush. When you fall in love, everythings seem beautiful, sweet and sensational. Not to avoid the fear, pain and hurts. Love blinds everything in it. Love and life i will divide.
I'm deeply in love with him but confused about the path that will lead us to nowhere.
Obviously, Adele sings about the pain that one suffers when they are left alone after surrendering her heart to the guy she loves most. She'll be hiding her heart forever not to fall in love ever again cos it'll not be the same again and the pains. Sad song... -
She has met someone who "blew her away" during a time in her life when she was depressed or down. Previous relationships have taught her that she cannot trust - "like everything i've ever known, you'll disappear one day" - and she feels that while she wants to fall in love again, she doesn't want to have to face the pain of it again. So she will "keep on hiding [my] heart away".
-
It could mean any of those interpretations others put, but these aren't Adele's feelings, they are originally Brandi Carlile's.
-
She still has a place in her heart for someone she loved, but in reality, she KNOWS if she doesn't let go then she won't live her life the way she should "i can't spend my whole life hiding my heart away " her times too valuable to wish and wish for this idiot guy to come back to her. She realizes that she is good enough even though it took some time to finally notice, thats why the song talks about so many memories.
