The song is about the old 78 records and the blues music that effected Tyler and Perry. It is another blues standard.

The lyrics to "Sweet Emotion" are essentially about how much all the members of Aerosmith hate Joe Perry's wife.

There is also a portion of the song that could refer to a homosexual relationship between Steven Tyler and Joe Perry.

    The verse in question:
"You stand in the front just a shakin your ass
Ill take you backstage, you can drink from my glass
I talk about something you can sure understand
'cause a month on the road an' I'll be eatin' from your hand"

Apparently, the "eatin' from your hand" part refers to Steven performing fellatio on Joe while they were on tour for extended periods.
