Man Of The Year Lyrics

I wake up every morning, six o'clock, I'm right on time
I eat a low fat breakfast, I tie a perfect tie
I kiss the wife, I hug the kids, I pat the dogs and cats
I never lose anything, my car keys or my hat

'Cause I'm the man of the year
I'm...

The meeting between Mark Ciccone and Alice was 2001, not 2010. Just a small correction. I was notified by Mark, of the correction of the date. The song was released in 2003.

Alice wrote this song after he met a fan of his, Mark Ciccone on 2010. Mark was a Presidential Advisor for G.W.Bush and was designated as "The Man of The Year," by the N.R.C.C. Alice asked how he became "Man of the Year" and Mark said he had no idea. Alice and Mark joked about this for a while. Alice, using artistic license, made the Man of the Year a conformist that always followed the rules, the complete opposite of Mark. Alice explained to Mark and his wife Phyllis, after the song came out, that his conversation with Mark lead him to write the song. Alice said the line, "The President plays golf with me, I made Maddona faint," was a hint that he had Mark in mind, when he wrote it. Alice gave Mark a 5 Iron to give to President Bush, since Mark was an advisor. And Maddona was mentioned, because her last name is Ciccone, the same as Mark.
Alice and Mark Ciccone have been friends, ever since the 2010 meeting.

Alice met a fan that was a Presidential Advisor to G.W.Bush. This fan was designated as "Man of the Year," and "Businessman of the Year," by the N.R.C.C., from 2000 to 2008. Alice asked what does Man of the Year even mean? Mark, answered, saying, "I have no idea," causing Alice to laugh. Mark and Alice struck up.a friendship, and joked about the "Man of the Year" awards. ALice write the song, obviousy, tonqye and cheek, about what this Man of the Year, would be like. Using artistic license, Alice made him a Harvard Graduate, and total conformist. Mark was the complete opposite of this conformist, Alice write about. Alice gives two clues in the song that he had Mark in mind when he wrote it, using the lines, "the President plays golf with me; I made Maddona faint. As a Prrsidentisl advisor, Mark, was close to G.W.Bush, although they didn't play golf together, because Mark was a terrible player. Maddona wad mentioned, because her last name is Ciccone, and that is also Mark's last name. Alice told Mark, and his wife Phyllis he write the song, because of the laughs he shared with Mark about this, "Man of the Year" thing. Mark Jay been a fan of Alice's, since he was in 3rd Grade and was honored and thrilled the first time he met Alice. Alice, being one of the kindest men in Rock and Roll, was touched by Mark's 40 years of being a fan and starting at the age of 9, and the song came from this first meetings the two had together. Mark says this song means more to him than he has ever been able to express to Alice. As a fan since they age of 9, being honored by his Rock and Roll hero, is still overwhelming. Alice has invited Mark to play golf with him on many occasions, but Mark knows how bad a golfer he is, and Alice is way too good. Alice did give Mark a 5 iron that he wanted G.W.Bush to have.Mark says, President Bush was truly grateful, for this gift from Alice, and confided, that he too was a huge fan.
