Them Bones Lyrics

I Believe Them Bones Are Me
Some Say We're Born Into The Grave
I Feel So Alone
Gonna End Up A Big Ole Pile A Them Bones

Dust Rise Right On Over My Time
Empty Fossil Of The New Scene

Gonna End Up A Big Ole Pile A Them...

This song is aboutdeath being unavoidable. Jerry Cantrell wrote it when he was probably thinking about death himself. "We are born into the grave", when the person is born he or she begins to die.

Jerry Cantrell wrote this, and most AIC songs, so its not from Layne.

A great song. A very deep meaning to it though. If you think about the song, it kind of points toward Layne Staley's suicide.

I believe them bones are mine=this means that he sees himself in a not so good position

Some say we're born into the grave
I feel so alone gonna end up a
Big ole pile a them bones=he feels so alone that he needs to take drugs and if he continues he'll die

Dust rise right on over my time
Empty fossil of the new scene
I feel so alone gonna wind up a
big ole pile a them bones=He'll rot away mentally and he'll become forgotten after his death because of the increase in other popular music (rap, indie rock, emo, ect)

Toll due bad dream come true
I lie dead gone under red sky
I feel so alone gonna end up a
Big ole pile a them bones=He predicted that this will happen even when he wished it wouldn't. He'll always be dead and no one will remember him.

Problem is that, EVERYONE REMEMBERS YOU LAYNE! R.I.P

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway
