Asking Alexandria: Hey There Mr. Brooks Meaning
Hey There Mr. Brooks Lyrics
You're back to me and the hunger returns.
I told myself I was done for good.

#1 top rated interpretation:This song is ultimately a 'song' version of the movie Mr. Brooks, the story is about a serial killer/photographer who wants to stop his killing habbits which has obviously taken control and on one night a neighbor across the street catches him red handed (killing a couple) but the boy wants to help him kill. the boy later then gets stressed, guilty and turns on mr.brooks but its too late for him and he gets slaughtered himslf.

The song (at the last part) is for Danny's daughter who died before she was born.

I honestly thought that this song could have been about the Snow Town murders (The Bodies in Barrels Murders) from adelaide south australia. As i live in South Australia and have just seen the movie i am doing a little more research on the murders and in the research the murderers murder a man named Fred Brooks kinda makes sense i guess but i dont know i just thought id put it out there you know

This song is based on the serial killer Mr. Brooks who at first was trying to quit his addiction, but ends up killing a couple- the curtains are left open and he ends up getting blackmailed into letting another guy accompany him in his murders. The guy turns on him, he saw it coming, slits his throat with a shovel.
The last verse refers to his daughter who also committed a murder which he helped cover up. He's scared she'll end up like him.
